Former Minister of State for External Affairs, V Muraleedharan, reiterated India’s unwavering stance against terrorism during a visit to Doha, Qatar, as part of an all-party parliamentary delegation led by NCP-SCP MP Supriya Sule. Addressing members of the Indian diaspora, Muraleedharan emphasized the urgent need for a collective international response to terrorism.

“India wants to raise its voice in unison against terrorism,” Muraleedharan stated, recalling India’s leadership during its tenure on the UN Security Council and its hosting of a special Counter-Terrorism Committee session in Mumbai. “Every country condemned terrorism in all its forms, yet India continues to be targeted. I’m glad that in our talks with the Qatari leadership, they expressed a strong zero-tolerance approach toward terrorism.”

The delegation’s visit to Qatar was warmly received by the Indian community, who viewed it as a powerful symbol of national unity. One diaspora member said, “This all-party delegation sends a strong message that when it comes to India’s integrity, we stand together as one.”

Reacting to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 Indian tourists were killed by Pakistan-backed militants, community member Rajni Murthy said, “It’s important for us to share India’s side of the story with the world… We’re happy to meet our MPs and express support.”

Muraleedharan acknowledged this global outreach as an opportunity to counter misinformation campaigns orchestrated by those responsible for cross-border terrorism. “People around the world support India’s actions, but disinformation is being spread. Our responsibility is to make our position clear under PM Modi’s leadership.”

In meetings with Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi, the Indian delegation highlighted the facts surrounding the Pahalgam attack, India’s decisive Operation Sindoor, and its national consensus on zero tolerance for terrorism.

Muraleedharan also announced the BJP’s upcoming campaign to raise awareness about the 1975 Emergency period in India. “It was the most shameful period when democratic rights were revoked and opposition leaders jailed. From June 25–26, the BJP will launch an awareness drive to uphold constitutional values for future generations.”

The Qatar visit is part of a broader diplomatic initiative launched in the wake of Operation Sindoor, through which seven multi-party delegations are engaging international partners to expose Pakistan’s support for terrorism and reaffirm India’s firm stance against extremist violence.
